Soraya Estrada Claims 4th Place in the Merit Poker Carmen Series Main Event
Spanish poker pro Soraya Estrada delivered a standout performance at the $3,300 Main Event of the Merit Poker Carmen Series in Cyprus, finishing in 4th place and earning $132,100 — the largest cash of her live career.
Held at the Crystal Cove Hotel & Casino, the event attracted 881 players and generated a massive $2,431,560 prize pool. Estrada entered the final table in 6th chip position but quickly climbed the leaderboard after eliminating Daniil Kiselev with pocket aces against queens.
A pivotal hand saw her hit two pair on the river in a multiway pot to take the chip lead, putting her in contention for the title. However, her momentum slowed after a heartbreaking bad beat followed by a cooler against eventual champion Nenad Dukic. In that hand, Dukic’s higher two pair bested Estrada’s, leaving her short-stacked. Despite doubling up twice, she was eventually eliminated in 4th place.
Final Table – $3,300 Main Event Payouts
Estrada’s impressive showing solidifies her status as one of Spain’s top female players alongside Ana Márquez and Leo Margets. Her run in Cyprus is a testament to the growing strength of women in the international poker scene.
Congrats, Sory!
