Casino Barcelona will be the new headquarters of the PokerStars Players Championship 2020

PokerStars, the world's most prestigious online poker room and organizer of the European Poker Tour circuit, has just announced Casino Barcelona as the next venue for the 2020 PokersStars Players Championship. In the next PSPC edition the buy-in will be 22,500€  and, like last year, it will be a wide range of possibilities to win a Platinum Pass to have access to the event, from online freerolls through live tournament victories to promotions in social networks and other surprises. In this sense, 5 Platinum Pass were already distributed yesterday to the winners of the "Pursue your dream" promotion, among which the Spanish Adrián García stands out.

In its last edition, held in the Bahamas at the beginning of the year, the tournament broke all records exceeding 1,000 players and becoming the biggest championship in poker history with a buy-in of 25,000$ . In addition, the champion was Ramón Colillas, who played the PSPC as the Spanish Poker Champion (CEP 2018). A spectacular triumph that was a prize of 5,100,000$ , the bigger prize of the story won by a Spanish player.

EPT Barcelona continues to break records

The EPT Barcelona, ​​which is playing since August 21 and until September 1 at Casino Barcelona with a total of 51 scheduled events, continues to beat all registered participation records and consolidate even more as the poker tournament more Europe's largest and second in the world.

In this sense, the main tournament played to date has been the National EPT, which has broken the record registered in 2017 (4,557 entries) reaching 4,682 entries from 80 different countries and consolidating itself as the largest face-to-face tournament of average limits in history from PokerStars. The champion was the Estonian Markku Koplimaa, a regular player of the EPT circuit who won the American Adam Hendrix in the heads-up.

Another of the main events and disputes has been the Super High Roller, the tournament with the highest buy-in of EPT Barcelona (98,000€  + 2,000€ ). The main protagonist of this tournament, which has count a total of 57 entries, has been Sergi Reixach from Girona, who won to the British Sam Grafton on the heads-up to win the precious pica and the most important prize of his career , the third largest in the history of Spanish poker.

In addition to the best poker players in the world, during these past days we saw also great sports stars such as FC Barcelona players Gerard Piqué and Arturo Vidal, who played the 24,500 High Roller yesterday of 24.500€ + 500€ with excellent results. And it is that both players show that they also know how to compete at the poker tables and before a field of 70 entries among which are some of the most successful professionals. Piqué and Vidal arrived at the final table to finish fifth, the Chilean, and the second, the Catalan, who fell in the heads-up against the andalusian Juan Pardo.

Regarding the tournaments that are still underway, the main protagonist is the Main Event (5,000€  + 3,000€ ), which will last until the early hours of September 1 and will seek to beat the participation record registered last year, when it became the biggest main event in the history of the EPT circuit with 1,931 inscriptions. This event will also coincide with the dispute, Saturday and Sunday, of the High Roller of 10,300€ .

The extensive tournament schedule of the championship (EPT) is being complemented by the wide and varied offer of games offered by Casino Barcelona, ​​with up to 80 poker tables in cash 24 hours until September 1.
