Casino Barcelona will be the setting, from February 3rd to 12th, for the first stage of CEP by PokerStars 2023.
Barcelona, November 28th, 2022. The most atypical edition of the Spanish Poker Championship by PokerStars 2020-2022 has a new champion; Iñaki Aguirre 'Txikuri'. Two years and nine months after its inception, and after overcoming the stoppage forced by the COVID-19 pandemic, the dean championship of Spanish poker has ended its XV edition with the dispute of a CEP Peralada that has crowned the player from San Sebastian as new champion of Spain of Poker.
Aguirre, who was proclaimed champion of the first stage of the season (CEP Barcelona 2020), reached the last stage of the circuit as the leader of the Main Event general classification, although he was closely followed by Liutauras Armanavicius. Everything predicted a heart attack outcome, but the fact that Liutauras did not make the 1D Turbo Day cut automatically gave him the title.
Now as champion and without the pressure of the title at stake, the player from San Sebastian demonstrated his excellent level throughout a CEP Peralada Main Event that brought together 396 players, a record for the stop. Aguirre reached the heads up of the final table, in which he lost to the local player Antoni Vallespi, who won the pike that accredits him as CEP Peralada champion.

In addition to the national title and sponsorship for all stages of the CEP 2023, Iñaki Aguirre also received the corresponding Platinum Pass (valued at $30,000) to play in the next PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold'em Championship (PSPC).
The CEP Peralada has also crowned Gerard Rubiralta as the new Mini CEP 2020-2022 champion after finishing this last stage in prizes. In addition to the title, Rubiralta also received sponsorship for all stages of the CEP 2023. The victory in the Mini CEP held at Casino Peralada went to Laura Sanmartín.
Luis Mata was another of the prominent names of the weekend, since he received recognition for the most regular player of the season and the consequent sponsorship for the CEP 2023.
Casino Barcelona, first stop of the CEP 2023
As usual, Casino Barcelona will once again kick off a new edition of the Spanish Poker Championship (16th) hosting, from February 3 to 12th, the inaugural stage. The dean circuit of Spanish poker will shortly announce the complete calendar and many new features.
